Despite intensifying persecution, Japan's church maintains to set root. However the church is forced underground for hundreds of years until a new constitution grants religious freedom in 19th century.
LIBERATION
Thousands of Japanese faithful gather in Nagasaki for beatification of Fr. Peter Kibe and 187 others martyred in Japan. Stories are told of the martyrs, along with footage from the ceremony.
